MY OBJECTS
The work I nurture is an eclectic mass of ideas and feelings gained through my experiences. I have always strove to breakdown the mundane.
Each piece of work is fundamentally an experiment of juxtaposition in which various different media and materials co-exist in two and three dimensions. These visual parts remain in a constant state of flux.
Some works contain hidden languages and meanings, which only become apparent after the work is completed. The work contains levels of interpretation that exist to give deeper symbolism to more complex beliefs.
The work can be revisited where elements are altered as new paths and meanings unfold.
The reoccurring subject matter derives from my interest in science, religion and the natural world. These areas of interest are portrayed in isolated elements with reoccurring symbolism.
The work lies in most cases between the poles of chaos and structure. The work is caught between both the aesthetic properties of materials and media, and the surreal pictorial influences of scenario.
DEDICATION
I would like to dedicate this site to the late THOMAS JAMES BUCKROYD who was a great Artist, human being, and friend. He has inspired the work that is contained in this site, and will continue to inspire me in my life. I hope to create a website dedicated to his work soon.
THE ROLLING MIRROR
“THERE IS a plane of existence called the Sphere of the Rolling Mirror. In continual motion; it is a turning land of opposites that reflects all which we harbour within. When looked at clearly it appears lucid and still like a limpid pool. When viewed without the pause of stillness vision becomes blurred, and then the Rolling Mirror reverts to chaos and confusion and yet, paradoxically, also to an order so rigid that it contains. Freedom is instantly found or lost in the quality of that reflection. " - WITHIN THE MIRROR-LIFE IN THE ROLLING MIRROR G.Bluestone
